1708 Gallery is pleased to announce the annual Cindy Neuschwander Scholarship, established in honor of the memory, generosity of spirit, and artistic talents of Cindy Neuschwander, an artist and long-time 1708 supporter.
Given annually to a graduating high school senior who plans to study studio art, this $1000 scholarship will be awarded based on artistic merit and ambition. Each year, this scholarship will recognize a student who is talented, passionate and who shows a willingness to explore and discover art in meaningful ways that can inspire and enhance their lives and the lives of those around them.
1708 Gallery congratulates Haylie Zapantis as the winner of the inaugural Cindy Neuschwander Scholarship. A soon-to-be-graduate of Lee Davis High School, Haylie plans to study at Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
Her nominating teacher stated, “As an artist Haylie is mature and prolific-exploring one theme throughout her high school career. Her outstanding work ethic has allowed her to be an honors student in addition to an amazing young artist.”
1708 Gallery’s 2013-2014 Exhibition Season is dedicated to Cindy Neuschwander.
