Matthew Friday’s artwork is the result of a collective reaction to sociological and utopian ideals of the past. The project focuses on “the co-evolution of a community, which is always conceived of as an emergent public space that exists within and through its relations.” Using historical documents, representations of electronic diagrams and public input over the course of the show, he will create a visual transformation from what was to what might have been.
